Slimpocket makes the Boston Globe
LINK
By June Wulff
Globe Staff / January 28, 2009
"There's alliteration and great sounds from this band billed as "4R music" of rap, reggae, rock, and R&B.
Slimpocket - also described as six musicians with six different backgrounds - performs original music
delivered by vocalist Jahganot, keyboardist Jeff Goldman, guitarist Goody, bassist Tom (a.k.a. 2%),
drummer Saeed, and vocalist Rexi 45. On the band's website, Rexi's rap-style lyrics are described as
calling out "the fraud and unrest of today's . . . politics of fear and lies." Let's check back with
him in a few months to see if the new administration has changed his tune."

Hip pocket
What do you get when you throw together a couple of rappers, a few heavy
rockers and a pair of jazz musicians? Usually mayhem, but not in the case of
Slimpocket, the local band on stage this Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Pickled
Onion on Rantoul Street in Beverly.
Slimpocket is known for performances where they belt out 4R music: rap,
reggae, R&B and rock. Less known for their humility, the band has advised
fans to see them now in small local clubs before they hit the big time and
tickets to a show cost will you more than a week's pay. The show starts at
9:30 p.m. For information, call the Pickled Onion at 978-232-3973. Or for a
preview of the band visit www.slimpocket.com |

Slimpocket's new single, "Got
Something to Say", puts a great selection of guitar and vocal melodies into
the new local reggae scene. It's edgy and emotional while completely cool
and laid back. Slimpocket is informed with a smart message. Please play this
track! |
